Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, SLS, Sodium Laureth Sulfate are surfactants. The produce the rich sudsy lather that marketing has made us think is essential to a good shampoo. Nothing is farther from the truth. Lather is just lubrication to ease the massaging of the product into the hair shaft and scalp.
Read your labels. Just because a product claims to be “natural” doesn’t mean it’s a Sulfate Free Shampoo. In fact many of these still use sulfates as their main ingredient so do yourself a favor and read read read!
